Our Story
Where Ancient Land Meets Morning Coffee
Copán, Honduras. The same highlands where the Maya built their greatest city now grow some of the finest arabica coffee in Central America. We exist to connect those two truths — and bring them to your door.

The Land Behind the Cup
The Copán ruins in western Honduras are one of the most significant Mayan archaeological sites ever discovered. The hieroglyphic stairway there contains more ancient Mayan text than any other monument on earth. Kings were crowned here. Priests performed cacao ceremonies here. The jaguar god Balam watched over these valleys for a thousand years.
Those same valleys — still volcanic, still high-altitude, still cultivated with care — now produce coffee at elevations between 1,300 and 1,700 meters above sea level. The soil that fed the Maya feeds the coffee trees. The altitude that built the ancient city is the altitude that builds complex flavor.
We named every product in our lineup after a Mayan deity — not as decoration, but because this land carries that history in every bean.
What We Believe
Direct Trade
We source directly from CAFICO and COCAFCAL — two cooperatives whose farmer members have cultivated Copán's highlands for generations. No brokers. No mystery about origin.
Honest Sourcing
We tell you exactly where each coffee comes from, what altitude it was grown at, how it was processed, and which cooperative produced it. Coffee should have a traceable story.
Packed Fresh
Every order is packed in Honduras — not sitting in a US warehouse for months. We ship within 3 business days of your order. Freshness is not a marketing claim. It's how we operate.
Cultural Respect
The Mayan civilization was not a marketing theme — it was one of the most sophisticated cultures in human history. We treat it that way. Every name, every story, every product connection is rooted in real history.
Our Partners
The Farmers Behind Your Coffee
CAFICO (Cooperativa Agrícola Fronteriza de Copán) has worked with smallholder farmers in Copán for decades. Their members grow Catuaí and Lempira varieties at 1,400–1,700 meters — some of the highest-altitude farms in Honduras. They supply our Balam, Mut, and Kukulkan.
COCAFCAL serves the broader Copán corridor with a focus on sustainable farming and experimental processing. Their washed and natural lots are exceptional — used for our private label coffees.
Both cooperatives represent families, not factories. When you buy a bag of Mayan Origin coffee, you're paying a fair price directly to the people who grew it.
